I will persist until I succeed.
I grew up in a small town Southeastern Wisconsin, my father and mother ran their own business. I spent most of my summer’s competing in swimming and playing on a little league baseball team my father coached. During High School I competed in Cross Country for two years and swam all four years. Swimming proved to be my biggest athletic success having won four state titles, was an All-American 10 times and team captain my junior and senior year of High School.
During my college years I swam 2 years and ultimately decided I didn’t have enough interest to stay competitive in the sport. I played college rugby for one year just to stay active in a sport and then turned my interest to Mixed Martial Arts. I took a break from college and moved to Chicago to pursue MMA training and experience life outside of Wisconsin. After a year of training in Chicago I decided to take my training to the next level and moved to Pattaya Thailand and trained under 3 time Muay Thai World Champion Christian Daghio at the Pattaya Kombat Group. During my year in Thailand I competed in 3 fights winning them all as well as earning my international Muay Thai instructor certification from Christian Daghio. After my year in Thailand I moved back to Chicago and continued to train for MMA. After several sidelining injuries I decided it was time to take a step back from fighting and return to school.
Once back at UW-Whitewater I assisted in the strength and conditioning program for two years with the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. I also continued to work with various individuals to achieve their fitness and athletic goals; these individuals ranged from MMA fighters preparing to do battle inside a cage to overweight and deconditioned every day people.
After completing my academics at the UW-Whitewater I completed a 4-month internship in Burlington Wisconsin at the Aurora Wellness Center. During my time at the Aurora Wellness Center I continued to advance my knowledge and application of group training, personal training as well as giving nutritional presentations to all interested.
After successful completion of my internship I decided Madison Wisconsin was going to be the best place for me to begin my quest on personal health and Wellness. It is my view that wellness and personal well-being goes much deeper than just fitness itself. I train all of my clients and athletes using the same hierarchy. I believe that nutrition should be at the foundation of all training programs. I believe quality sleep should be the next step in everyone’s fitness and wellness pyramid, when these first two components and only after these components have been addressed do we move forward to our next step which would be quality training. I think and know from experience that a successful training program should be built around quality foundational lifts that will not just make you stronger in the gym but will improve your life to make everyday task performance easier and safer. The next step we will concur will be personal motivation, and the last step in my personal belief of wellness and well-being are your goals. I will work with you every step of the way to ensure you are well on your way to looking and feeling better in as little as one meeting per week. We will cover all 12 aspects of fitness to ensure all of your fitness skills advance making you more athletic, younger and feeling better.
